Why This Course Matters

Sensory integration is a process inherent in all of us; one that links what is an ongoing relationship between brain function and behaviour.

It is also a process that forms the crucial foundation for later more complex learning, social relationships and emotional well-being in individuals. When this process is disordered, issues in learning, motor skills and behavior may be evident.

This course aims to introduce the foundations of sensory integration as a basis to view individuals through the neurodevelopmental lens. Doing so will form the foundation for the ability to better understand, support and guide children with sensory issues to be more successful in learning and in meeting their occupational roles across development and within any environment.

...
